What does Cre8 East Africa do?
The non-profit organisation Cre8 East Africa organises art educational projects for children and young people in East Africa and the Netherlands. While doing this we take into account the wishes, needs and potential of the communities and organisations with whom we work.
Ben Hekkema first got the idea for Cre8 East Africa in 2003 after visiting a project involving orphans in a fishing village on Lake Victoria in Kenya. After a period of preparation the organisation was founded in 2005 with a team of 15 people.
Cre8 East Africa works with children and young people in Africa and the Netherlands, employing volunteers and keeping overhead costs at a minimum. We are a small, but extremely professional organisation made of enthusiastic people with a passion for children, the arts and Africa.
