Since all of the participants were new to Cre8 and the Cre8 in 8 approach, we decided to add two more days to the three day training. In this time the group created a ‘mini’ festival following the cre8 in 8 steps in a ‘pressure cooker’ situation.
End of November 2017, we trained a group of 22 youths from 8 different groups in Moshi, Tanzania. After this three day training the group organised its own project in which they worked towards a presentation in April 2018. Harri and Dina were present at that finale.
In April and May of 2016 Harrison Okwach, Dina Abok (Yaden) and Ben Hekkema (Cre8) trained 40 young leaders from cultural youth groups in Kisumu (Kenya) and Gulu (Uganda) on the Cre8 in 8 approach. In both locations twenty participants attended.
Cre8 East Africa’s second project took place in December 2007 in Yala, Western Kenya and in Poeldijk, the Netherlands. Cre8 produced a music theater performance with the theme: ‘How do I shape my future?’
At the request of the local community, Cre8 East Africa carried out its first (pilot) project in August 2006 in Dunga, West Kenya. The project was in cooperation with teachers and students from the local primary school and a team of local artists.
